Understanding that a team that doesn’t work together and respect each other, cannot succeed, and that abuse of any sort doesn’t have a place in any sporting code: local sporting personalities add their voice to the 16 Days of Activism against women and child abuse.
Pledging their support to the campaign are: experienced runner, Tilda Tearle (uMhlanga Trail Run and Walk hosted by with Riverside Trails), Jaco Kapp (Lizzard Summer Surf supported by Hurricane Surf at the uMhlanga Summer Festival) and Zamani Mda (Point Yacht Club Keelboat Sailor).
The Daily News is running a series of features during the 16 Days. They are also encouraging staff and readers to wear orange – or paint a finger nail orange – in support of the UN’s campaign to symbolize a brighter future without violence. Many local NGOs are suggesting wearing a white ribbon – which is South Africa’s nominated symbol for the campaign.
