1-7 April
In association with Concerts SA, iSupport Music Business and Rainbow Restaurant present Sibusiso “Mash” Mashloane Live in concert. Sibusiso “Mash” Mashiloane presents his 7-track recording project “Amanz’ Olwandle’ with this concert series in KwaZulu-Natal. Mash and his band will visit Seaman’s Corner in Hammarsdale on Saturday 1 April, Rainbow Restaurant in Pine Town on Sunday 2 April and Luthuli Museum in Groutville on Friday 7 April.
With his catchy, self-written compositions that always aim to blur the line between jazz and other genres Mash is quickly winning the hearts and minds of a large public. He and his band have played not only the main stages of the KwaZulu-Natal circuit, but also many major jazz festivals and his live performances have taken him as far as USA. As a pianist he has appeared with many different groups around the world and he has initiated projects of his own. Having obtained his Masters degree in Jazz Performance and graduating Cum Laude from the University of KwaZulu-Natal his aim is to become an integral part of the South African and international jazz scene. Mash plans to release a seven-track album every year for the next seven years starting with this first release.
Mash’ debut record ” Amanz’ Olwandle” is an accrual and reflection of every music experience he has accumulated throughout his upbringing and music career. It is a melting pot of fresh instrumental and vocal pieces that ooze with bold Afrocentric and contemporary rhythms, sweet melodies and soulful harmonies. This record is a must for anyone who appreciates African, Spiritual, Soul, Jazz, Funk, Lounge and even sophisticated House music. He has worked with a range of recognised vocalists and instrumentalists, such as Nick Pitman, Zoe The Seed, Xolisa Dlamini and Paras Dlamini.
For the performances his band will comprise of Sibusiso Mashiloane on keyboards, Riley Giandhari on drums, Xolisa Dlamini on vocals, Nick Pitman on guitar and Qhubekani Mthethwa on bass guitar.
“For this launch tour people can expect to hear the many different faces from the album, without compromising the sound that I have created to be my own.” Says Mash.
