May The Fourth Be With You!

The date was chosen for the pun on the catchphrase May the Force be with you. Star Wars fans across the world have chosen to celebrate the holiday in a variety of ways in social media and on television. Since 2013, The Walt Disney Company has officially observed the holiday with several Star Wars events and festivities at Disneyland. Minor League Baseball teams have bee known to wear special uniforms as part of Star Wars day and astronauts in the International Space Station watch Star Wars to commemorate the day.
Orchestrating some fun and celebrating Star Wars Day are Michaelhouse students Lesedi Letebele and Menzi Mbuyazi in the front, and Sam Lombaard, Michael Herbert and Takudzwa Madombwe. The up-and-coming musicians will be performing with the youth orchestra next Friday at the start of the Michaelhouse Festival of Music, opening for the legendary PJ Powers.
