February is the month of love – and there are two opportunities to get a taste of the greatest love story ever told: William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s: Romeo and Juliet Overture as part of their “love” themed concert on Thursday evening (20 Feb) in the Durban City Hall under the baton of American conductor William Eddins; and the students from DUT are staging Romeo and Juliet / Lomeyo no Jula at the DUT Courtyard Theatre from 28 February until 6 March, directed by Siza Mthembu and translated by Sabatha Ngcobo, set in a taxi rank, to be performed in isiZulu with a cast of 50.
