Hilton Arts Festival Jongosi Youth Programme

Friday 14 September 2018
Make sure your school is part of the thrill of Jongosi where young people are exposed to the best SA can offer by way of live theatre!
Keeping arts alive for future generations, the Hilton Arts Festival works proactively to introduce young people to the wondrous all-encompassing world of live performance and is again offering a Jongosi / youth component as part of the main festival.
The festival invites schools to participate in the 9th Jongosi Festival. Save the date if you would like your learners, drama, music or dance classes to experience the best of live performances on offer in the country. Jongosi, embedded in the main festival, takes place on Friday 14 September, and has a specifically, carefully-selected age-appropriate programme aimed at Grades 6 – 10. The full programme will be released in due course. In the meanwhile email admin@hiltonfestival.co.za to make sure you get the programme and booking details the moment they are released. In 2016, seats booked out extremely quickly. The organisers hope to release the programme before the end of the current school term (end June) in order for teachers to make decisions prior to booking opening at the end of July.
Festival Director, Sue Clarence stated: “The day is structured to ensure that learners will be fully-occupied attending a variety of fabulous, innovative theatre. The aim is to instill a love of the performing arts, to provide enjoyment and to stimulate thought and discussion.”
Give your pupils the opportunity to submerge themselves in quality performance at the 26th Hilton Arts Festival this year at Hilton College in KZN 14 – 16 September.
The festival would not be possible without the generous support of Hilton College, Tiso Black Star, Grindrod Bank, Black Coffee Design, DWR Distribution, Bidvest Car Rental, Extreme Events, KZN Dept of Arts & Culture, Assitej South Africa, Loud Crowd, Sappi, Redlands Hotel, BASA, Castle Lite, and Capital Media.
