KZNPO 2018 Summer Season
Thursday: Playhouse Opera: 1 March
Flute Salut: Durban celebrates all things French – from “flutes” of glorious French champagne, to a beautiful French music.
This week the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra is celebrating the music of France with a thoughtful programme of beautiful French classics featuring pieces by Gabriel Fauré; Cécile Chaminade, François Borne / Georges Bizet, Claude Debussy and César Franck, for their second concert in the 2018 Word Symphony Series Summer Season.
Soloist this week is award winning South African flautist, Liesl Stoltz playing two short works for flute and orchestra.
Enjoying the word-play the word “flute” evokes is Liesl Stoltz with her flute, hamming it up with flutes of French champagne with Eon le Roux, a chef at the French Fusion Café at the Alliance Française de Durban.
Stoltz will be performing with the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra tonight, Thursday 1 March, in the Playhouse Opera from 7.30pm.
