AKA And KZN Philharmonic In Concert

AFROTAINMENT AND VERTEX EVENTS PRESENTS
THE AKA ORCHESTRA – eTHEKWINI
ICC Arena: Saturday 2 November
AKA will be performing his second Orchestra show, this weekend on Saturday 2 November at the ICC Arena in Durban, with the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra.
Teaming up with Durban’s very own Afrotainment and urban events promoter Vertex Events, AKA will masterfully bring the worlds of hip hop and classic music with the talents of the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra which is widely regarded as one of Africa’s premier orchestras. This follows AKA’S historical and successful show in March 2019 which took place at the Sun Arena Times Square, Menlyn.
Excited about the show AKA expressed: “I am excited to be bringing my Orchestra show to the city of eThekwini. This is my favourite city in the world to perform in, I love the energy of the people, they show love and it’s so easy to reciprocate. This show on Saturday is one for the books. I am inviting fans from all over the country to come enjoy with us and enjoy the warm hearts of the Durbanites as we take you on a musical experience”.
“I always enjoy bringing major events to my city Durban. It helps the city to continue to be the number one tourist destination in the country. The AKA Orchestra event is one of the best concepts in the event space currently.” he continued.
“I am delighted that the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra is performing with AKA. This will afford the orchestra an opportunity to work on a different genre of music than what they are used to and the musicians are excited to be working with such an accomplished artist,” says Bongani Tembe, CEO and Artistic Director of the KZN Phil.
The AKA Orchestra will be conducted by Kwa-Zulu Natal’s very own KZN Philharmonic Orchestra which is widely regarded as one of Africa’s premier orchestras. The attendees of the night will see the platinum selling Hip-hop artist perform his greatest hits providing for a newly found appreciation for AKA’s artistry. The show is set to have a fantastic array for a local line up and surprise special guests that will not only elevate the show but complement the order of performances.
Doors open at 4pm until midnight, and no under 18’s allowed.
Tickets are available at Computicket.
