400 children united in song!

Junior Schools Choir Concert

Emmanuel Cathedral: Thursday 23 Feb from 12.30 – 2pm

This Thursday (23 February) the Denis Hurley Centre is hosting their second annual Sing with One Voice Junior Schools Choir Concert taking place in the Emanuel Cathedral during which 400 children will be singing together.

This will be the first public performance of the Drakondale Girls Choir School who will join choirs from St Henry’s Marist College; St Theresa’s; Fatima Dominican Convent; St Anthony’s; Maris Stella College; St Augustine’s and Kwa Thintwa School for the Deaf

The concert takes place in the Emmanuel Cathedral from 12.30-2pm. Before that the children spend the morning at the Denis Hurley Centre singing together, learning new music and getting to know each other.

This is a unique opportunity for young people to connect with each other – there are children from eight different schools, some of the richest schools and some of the poorest, South Africans and foreign nationals, and disabled children as well: a highlight is when the children from the Kwa Thintwa School for the Deaf teach the hearing children how to deliver a song in sign language.

Entry is free and all are welcome.

For more info – contact the Denis Hurley Centre on tel: 031 301 2240.
