Piano in the spotlight for the second KZNPO Summer Season concert
Durban City Hall: Second concert: Thursday 21 February
Indian-American pianist Pallavi Mahidhara is in Durban to perform two concerts – she is the featured soloist for the second concert in the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra (KZNPO) four-concert 2019 Summer Season, under the baton of principal guest conductor of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, Bernhard Gueller, in the Durban City Hall on Thursday 21 February. A longstanding favourite with Durban audiences, she takes on the challenges of Brahms’ powerfully evocative B flat Major Piano Concerto. While in Durban, Pallavi Mahidhara will also be presenting a solo piano recital on Tuesday, February 26, at the Durban Jewish Club as part of the Friends of Music programme. She is pictured with her friend and host, Durban’s Devi Rajab.
