Learn The Art Of Fencing At Hilton Arts Festival!

Here is another new, exciting opportunity for visitors at the Hilton Arts Festival at Hilton College from 13 – 15 September. Experts in the art of fencing will be giving demonstrations and inviting the public to have a go.
Fencing is a sport for both boys and girls of all ages. Midlands Fencing Academy has been established with the purpose of introducing this amazing sport to the public. In only 2 short months, MFA has 18 fencers and has attended its first competition in Durban. Fencers brought home a gold and 2 bronze medals.
The aim of the club is eventually to begin a school’s league which can compete in KZN as well as in Gauteng.
Greta Ingram says: “As a coach, I’m passionate about this sport and its benefits for both young and old. Fencing is growing rapidly in South Africa and with 8 provincial competitions a year, a fencer can make a name for themselves locally as well as internationally. We are proud to be associated with the Hilton Arts Festival. We will be holding a number of demonstrations and we challenge you to try your hand at this fast paced and stimulating sport.”
“Fencing, not merely a sport but a lifestyle! Join the fun!”
