Michaelhouse Festival of Music
Michaelhouse: Friday 11- Sunday 13 May
The fourth Michaelhouse Festival of Music took place at the magnificent Michaelhouse grounds last weekend (Friday 11 to Sunday 13 May) offering music lovers a wide selection of live music to choose from.
Festival Organiser, William Silk, was upbeat about the great response from audiences and participants from the weekend festival. βIt was gratifying to see such enthusiastic audiences at all of the concerts. It was hugely worthwhile that the music was appreciated by patrons of all ages. PJ Powers β who was awarded the Festival Luminary Award on Friday night – had the audience on their feet and jumping – as did Khan Morbee. Midlands music lovers appreciated the KZN Philharmonic coming up to perform for us, and the various choral programmes had great and enthusiastic responses throughout,β he said
The all-encompassing festival of music offers a unique musical experience with a carefully curated programme of a myriad musical genres β from rock to choral; orchestral to hip-hop; acoustic to jazz. The programme typically includes top national industry professionals sharing the programme with emerging talent and school choirs and bands and provides a worthwhile platform for emerging and youthful musicians to perform alongside industry professionals.
