Idols SA’s Siphelele Fuze premiers his debut album on the Spectacular Tour

Durban – Mamas’ Jus’ Jazzin’ Bar & Grill: Sunday 11th June – 2pm
In association with Concerts SA, independent recording artist Siphelele Fuze will embark on the Spectacular Tour around South Africa. Provinces where Siphelele will premier his debut album – due for release in July 2017 – include Eastern Cape, Durban and the Free State.
Born on 22nd April 1991 at iNanda (near Durban), Siphelele “Fuze” Ngcobo has established himself as one of the musicians to look out for in the year 2017. Describing his album, Siphelele says: “My debut album will have a mixture of conservative and contemporary tunes. I tried to write beyond myself and deal with issues that we all face in our daily lives.” For Siphelele, that is what music is all about – a music rich in the human experience and spirit.
In East London Siphelele will be supported by Impact Band: Kuhle Mboku (drums), Thembelani Batala (bass), Sbu Majiza (keys) and Lungisa Williams (guitar). In Vrede Siphelele will be backed by Tumelo Kumako (keys), Sbongiseni Shongwe (drums), Ritshidzi Maswime (bass) and Thabang Sefako (guitar). Siphele Fuze’s band in Durban is comprised by Wanda Khwela (keys), Sphelele Nyide (guitar), Boikie Mnomiya (drums) and Senzo Mdamba (bass).
Siphelele cut his teeth in the music industry at a very young age with classical singing as a school boy. His experience includes working as a backing vocalist at the Crown Gospel Awards. He attained fame when he entered one of the biggest music competitions in South Africa, Idols SA, where he reached top four finals in Season 11. Underscored by his subtle, yet cool demeanour, his fusion of Afro-Soul/Jazz and urban music, blended into a modern and unique sound, soon saw him performing on big stages around the country with the international legend and songstress Ms Regina Belle. Siphelele has now set his eyes on a bigger picture.
“This debut album premiere tour across South Africa will help me launch my career and I hope to inspire the audience through live music experience”, says Siphelele.
Siphelele Fuze’s Spectacular Tour is supported by Concerts SA through the Music Mobility Fund, a funding mechanism which offers opportunities for South African musicians to undertake live music tours.
Concerts SA is a joint South African/Norwegian live music development project housed within the SAMRO Foundation.
