Chloe Clark @ The Jazzy Rainbow

Saturday 9 February
This performance by Chloe Clark at The Jazzy Rainbow is part of the Concerts SA Venue Circuit which aims to foster a love and support for live music in our communities, as well as anchor small and medium sized venues in urban and rural Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape.
Durban’s jazz lounge, The Jazzy Rainbow, in association with Concerts SA, launched its first straight jazz programme on the eve of Heritage Day in September 2016 and continues to follow up with the same concept. “#JazzyStraightAhead is about introducing regular, live, straight jazz concerts to our city in order to help keep the music alive,” says Oliver-Rene Haas.
Chloe Clark is a dynamic, vivacious and undeniably talented songstress who began her journey into music at a tender age. At 11 years old she had already formed her first band and has been filling the air with her beautiful music and infectious energy ever since.
She has developed quite a reputation in Durban’s jazz, theatre and corporate entertainment scene, with a string of accomplishments to her name. Chloe has had the privilege of singing at the launching of the Durban July events, with the Kwa Zulu Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, being a backup vocalist for Ronan Keating, singing on Majozi’s first EP, as well as performing alongside artists such as Gangs of Ballet, Joseph Clark, Arno Carstens and many more. Chloe made her TV debut in 2014 by making it to the Top 30 on Idols SA.
More recently she was part of South Africa’s first season of The Voice South Africa where she was in Kahn’s (from the Parlotones) team. Chloe has also performed internationally in Mauritius, Japan, China and India. She studied music at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and completed her honors in Jazz vocals and vocal technique methods in 2016. In the same year she released her debut album, which gained national attention on local radio stations and television shows. 2018 saw the release of her jazz album She Encountered Wonderland. The album is currently making waves among the jazz communities worldwide, adding to her growing international reputation as one of the hot, talented jazz vocalists to look out for. With the highly talented band consisting of Nick Pitman on acoustic guitar, Llewelyn Chetty on double bass, Burton Naidoo on piano and Chloe Clark on vocals, it’s bound to be one of the new favourite Jazz albums internationally.
Chloe draws inspiration from many of her favourite artists- namely London Grammar, Diana Krall, Madeleine Peyroux, Kimbra, Billie Holiday, Imogen Heap and many more.
