Catholics Have Talent @ Mini World Youth Day 2017

A Gathering in Durban of young Catholics from Southern Africa
Durban Exhibition Centre: 6 – 10 Dec 2017
One of the events at Mini World Youth Day taking place in December in Durban, an event uniting youth from throughout Southern Africa, is Catholics Have Talent which is an open talent showcase to all registered conference participants.
Co-ordinator Justin Nanak, invites conference pilgrims to share their performing talent – whatever genre, from music to magic; from dance to drama; from rap to rock; from comedy to classics; from singing to sports. “As long as it fits in with the event guidelines – the stage is yours!” says Justin.
The showcase is open to individual or group performances and original work is preferred, although not criteria. Performances across all age groups are encouraged and you wouldn’t want to miss this chance. Did we mention special guests are also expected?
“Similar events have been held at other major gatherings and previous Mini World Youth Day’s, and at every occasion, the talent search adds a fun, inclusive highlight to the proceedings and is a useful counterpoint to the more formal and structured discussions and sessions” explains Justin.
To stand a chance to enter – simply record one minute of your proposed routine / act and send it to Justin as a youtube or video clip, for him and his team to adjudicate.
The Catholics Have Talent content guidelines can be found on the MWYD website, or can be emailed to you. Contact Justin on jus.n@live.co.za.
Only youth attending and registered for Mini Word Youth Day 2017 may participate. Deadline to Catholics Have Talent entries is 20 November.
Formal registration for MWYD is closed, however there are a few unclaimed spaces / late registration R2250 packs still available.
Plans are well underway for the “mini” World Youth Day which will be held in Durban from 6 to 10 December 2017 at the Durban Exhibition Centre, to unite Catholic young people from Southern Africa to celebrate their Christianity, community and unity while experiencing the chosen theme of “young people, faith and vocations.”
