This is the third week of the Kwazulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2023 World Winter Symphony Season, featuring a superb line-up of international and local talent, which runs in The Playhouse Opera every Thursday until 29 June, each World Symphony Series concert starting at 19h00.
On the programme this week is Liszt’s Piano Concerto No 1, being performed by South Korea’s Yeon-Min under the baton of Daniel Boico. Also on the programme is Liszt’s First Mephisto Waltz and Dvořák’s joyous Symphony No. 8.
The Concerto sees the lowly triangle come into the spotlight – so much so that one critic even dubbed the piece, “The Triangle Concerto.”
