Young vocalist Zethe at Seaman’s Corner in Hammarsdale

In association with Concerts SA, iSupport Music Business presents Zethe Live in concert. Zethe and her band will visit Seaman’s Corner in Hammarsdale on Saturday 28 January.

Zethe (Zethembiso Mdletshe) is a Afro/soul/Jazz vocalist based in Durban. She has a degree in Music, majoring in Jazz from University of KwaZulu-Natal. She has performed in various venues around the province including The Centre for Jazz, The Jazzy Rainbow, The Durban Playhouse, Bat Centre, The Chairman, Bertoua and Alliance Française. She has also worked with Uzalo drama series, Khaya records, Luthuli Museum, Florida Road Gordon Park, SAFTA awards, Riverside hotel, Durban International Film Festival to name a few. She has been featured on radio stations and TV programs such as Gagasi FM, Ukhozi FM and 1KZN. She performs a mixture of her on compositions and covers.

Her line up for this concert will consist of Zibusiso Makhathini on keys, Dalisu Ndlazion on bass guitar and Riley Giandhari on drums.

“ I will be performing my own compositions and will be doing a tribute to Thandiswa Mazwai. This tribute to one of the artists I admire has been very overdue” says Zethe

This performance is part of the Concerts SA Venue Circuit which aims to grow a love and support for live music in our communities, as well as anchor small and medium sized venues in urban and rural Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape.

Concerts SA is a joint South African/Norwegian live music development project housed within the SAMRO Foundation. Concerts SA receives financial, administrative and technical support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, SAMRO, the SAMRO Foundation and Concerts Norway. Working with musicians, promoters, venue owners and audiences, and providing support to the sector through research and skills development for music professionals, the project aims to build a vibrant and viable live music circuit in southern Africa.  It also aims to develop an interest in and appreciation of live music by showcasing music performances and conducting workshops at schools.
